POTUS Pointing

1/26/2012

I don't care who you are. I don't care what color your politics, or how big your beef, you Just.Don't.Do.This. (jab your finger in the face of the leader of the free world)...especially if you are this stupid:
Are there no manners left? Among anyone? Anywhere? You all know to what I am referring. Share more special Brewer moments in the comments if you wish. I am off to teach people who are one-third her age and have 1/100th of her advantages, yet have more respect for authority or position in their pencil points than Brewer has in her entire bleach bottle. As the Russians say:  how can you not be ashamed?

What is there to say? This woman is truly a low level being. She is not to be taken seriously. Her claims and "ideas" are the results of delusion and drink. I regret that our president had to waste one second of his time with her. She is a great big ZERO and should be treated as such. One would hope that the people of Arizona remove her from power ASAP.

Remember who endorsed and is 'friends' with this nitwit - that woman who wears roadkill on her head and lives on a dead lake in AK. Once known locally as GINO.

Drinking, drug abuse, doesn't matter what her personal problems are. Even most of us who live in the boonies know that decorum dictates that one doesn't verbally or physically attack the President in public as he leaves the plane.

Until the intelligent people in this country elect like individuals to all political offices, things aren't going to get much better.

Anyone else think the lunatics are taking over the asylum?

IM points out that Palin wrote the preface to Brewer's book. Or so it says, even though it sounds nothing like SP's speaking style, so it was prob written by someone else. But SP's name is on it. Birds of a feather.

She is a drunk.

Her bookwas sitting @266,724 on Wed. at Amazon. It is now 126 in sales.

All rabid right wing haters of the POTUS?

Probably.

It gets harder and harder to bear the steady disgusting, shameful character assassinations against this President by the likes of Jan Brewer, Sarah Palin, Fox News, Limbaugh, any of them, all of them! To see such disrespect shown to the President of the United States, OUR President is extremely disturbing and SAD, because you have to then realize (fully, undeniably) that we have sunk to the lowest depths of national conscience and decency when our public figures, leaders, and the media feel perfectly comfortable with this kind of behavior. I have been, of late, so discouraged about what these people have wrought against our country and the public discourse. There can be no doubt the malice they have towards President Obama - and I believe they are truly trolling for one of their racist lunatic fringe to take the bait and cross the line. It is going to get a lot worse, too. Most of all - I worry about the effect this kind of rhetoric and behavior are having on our children! These people are poison!

I just read a comment at Huff po (I read a page or two on any story that interests me, but only a page or two). Someone mentioned her father telling her there were only two kinds of people in the world. She went through all kinds of analagies. And he said. "There are people with class, and people without class."

I think that pretty much says it about this situation.

President Obama has class.

Governor Brewer doesn't.

She made her brownie points with the racial bigots.

He made his with any one with sense of what is, and what isn't appropriate.

There is a line, some draw that line and never overstep. Others always overstep.

i say it's terrific to get the tarmac/finger picture out there, plus the video of her having a brain-freeze (can you freeze your brain if you don't have one? guess so) that you put up, Laura. i remember it (or something similar from before), and i applaud any opportunity to revisit and ponder it.

Sarah Palin will be livid.

This finger wagging (which even toddlers hate) evidently have endeared Gov. Brewer to the far right, so much so, that the twitter is full of right wing fanatics urging Gingrich to appoint her his VP if he wins the primaries.

I think he has peaked and it will be downhill for him. Not that I really care. The Republicans have outdone themselves this time round.

Why are the only women politicians who get media attention the nut cases?

Although sometimes it seems like that, let me just mention Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Minority Leader (formerly Speaker) Nancy Pelosi, Senate candidate and Prof. Elizabeth Warren...

Why are the only *Republican* women politicians who get media attention the nut cases?

Partial answer: you have to be nuts to be a Republican these days?

Thanks, everyone. And yes, Frosty, the lunatics HAVE taken over the asylum. I was just reading the comments on that Esquire piece that say that her nickname in the state capital is Otis b/c that's the name of the town drunk in Mayberry RFD. Lord, I'll bet she was lubed when she did this. What a disgrace. And what has Janet Napolitano done to warrant her professional rise and make the rest of us deserve this horrible idiot? They should have left good old Janet back in Az where she could sit on more panels with the very cross-legged SP, and hence spared the rest of us even knowing Brewer's name.

Apparently she lied. He didn't walk away mid sentence. According to a Arizona mayor who was right there, he turned to the others and spoke to them pleasantly.

He didn't walk away because he was miffed, and he was not unpleasant. The mayors didn't say what they heard since they were standing there... they have to work with their governor.

I emailed Brewer last night. I said it was odd that she was calling Obama thin-skinned when shew as the one doing the whining. No answer yet.

Ottoline

Yet. LOL.

So, let's go to Governor Brewer's official site and read her "resume."

http://www.azgovernor.gov/About/Gov_Bio.asp

It's jaw dropping to me. There is NOTHING about her education, previous employment or professional accomplishments prior to becoming the governor of Arizona. The "accomplishments" listed are simply the Public Relations announcements that the governor's office would put out periodically. Really folks, we can do better than this. This is not leadership.

Her maiden name is.....Drinkwine. I kid you not. The universal weave that connects us all--- it has a sense of humor.

Ottoline
1/27/2012 02:46:27 am

Oh geez: Drinkwine, Boehner, Koch, Weiner -- did I miss any? It sounds like Hillbilly Holler. All the best families, named like in the olden days; Cooper, Baker, Stubblefield.

Laura Novak

It's nauseating. And what's worse? the comments I see on other sites with people applauding her for telling him off. I'd like to see any of these "morans" do this man's job for one hour. It's purely jaw dropping to see the disrespect this man garners - no less from two horribly uneducated, ignorant, shrill liars. Yes, let's remember the women politicians who give women a good name despite what you think of them politically. This shrew is an embarrassment.

Jan Brewer is a vile, hateful racist, an idiot and a member of a party that is slowly imploding.

But we elected a president, not a king.

I have no problem with her wagging her finger at President Obama. He's in no physical danger from her. He's surrounded by secret service agents. And frankly, he doesn't look particularly frightened of her.

If I had the opportunity to meet President Obama, I'd wag my finger at him as well—and I voted for the man. Like Bush and Cheney before him, whose policies he has either followed or ramped up, Obama has no moral authority.

As Conor Friedersdorf recently wrote in the Atlantic, How would you feel about any Republican candidate that would run in 2008 promising to:

(1) Codify indefinite detention into law; (2) draw up a secret kill list of people, including American citizens, to assassinate without due process; (3) proceed with warrantless spying on American citizens; (4) prosecute Bush-era whistleblowers for violating state secrets; (5) reinterpret the War Powers Resolution such that entering a war of choice without a Congressional declaration is permissible; (6) enter and prosecute such a war; (7) institutionalize naked scanners and intrusive full body pat-downs in major American airports; (8) oversee a planned expansion of TSA so that its agents are already beginning to patrol American highways, train stations, and bus depots; (9) wage an undeclared drone war on numerous Muslim countries that delegates to the CIA the final call about some strikes that put civilians in jeopardy; (10) invoke the state-secrets privilege to dismiss lawsuits brought by civil-liberties organizations on dubious technicalities rather than litigating them on the merits; (11) preside over federal raids on medical marijuana dispensaries; (12) attempt to negotiate an extension of American troops in Iraq beyond 2011 (an effort that thankfully failed); (14) reauthorize the Patriot Act; (13) and select an economic team mostly made up of former and future financial executives from Wall Street firms that played major roles in the financial crisis.

Obama has done all those things, of course. And people like you keep defending him blindly and insisting that he be respected. You're stuck in the two-team mentality and you've got to defend your team—no matter how distasteful and Bush-like your quarterback's policies are.

I'm sure Obama and his advisers are loving this Jan Brewer moment. It only garners sympathy for him and bolsters his support with uninformed democratic voters.

If the best that you can do is quote Conor Friedersdorf, then you are not to be taken seriously.

Jan Brewer spoke to the press following her meeting with Prest Obama at the White House on June 3, 2010.

Brewer said she was "encouraged" following the meeting, that there will be a better dialogue between her state and the Federal Government on the issue of border security. She said that the PresObama promised to send officials to meet with her state officials on the issue. Brewer also said she hopes it will lead to greater movement on securing the border with Mexico.

Several of the pm hosts on MSNBC have replayed this video, but I doubt that any of what passes for main-stream media has. I don't watch CBS, NBC, ABC, or that awful hackey Faux Lite CNN so I don't really know, but based on their history of bending knees for the republicans I would say that they haven't.
