Finding Clarity on Float

I am thrilled to announce that my novel that I just uploaded as an e-book on Scribd, is featured on their new iphone app launched at 6 this morning, Pacific Time.
Picture

Click on the book cover to take you to the Scribd page where you can read the first two chapters and then purchase Finding Clarity for $4.99.

Then click on the Float logo above to read Fortune's great rundown of Float and all it can do.

I've been fortunate enough to beta test the Float app throughout the weekend in anticipation of the launch, and I am here to tell you that the folks at Scribd are on to something great.

This is what your new "desktop" on Float will look like:

Picture

Float essentially aggregates the reading experience, putting your favorite apps and social feeds onto one screen.  Read articles, blogs and literature on your desktop or mobile device.

Find me and "Finding Clarity" under Favorites; Books; Books & Lit. Multiple reading fonts and styles are available for excellent readability. And where ever you leave off "Finding Clarity", you pick right up again.

The Scribd feed is more active than ever, pulling in from Twitter. That's how I found
THIS MURDOCH ARTICLE. With a keystroke, I emailed myself the article, linked here and then sent further into the social media sphere.

For now, find the Scribd Home Feed here on this icon. You'll see "Finding Clarity" featured in the right hand sidebar.

Scribd truly is "where the world comes to read." If you're a writer (and you know who you are) or make excellent videos (ditto) consider posting your work to Scribd and then Float your work between all the social media networks. I have 45,000 followers and more than 100,000 reads of my fiction, essays and news articles on Scribd alone.

More to come as I learn more about the new Float interface.  Meantime, I am beyond thrilled to introduce Clari Drake and her zany cast of misfit friends as they lurch through a school year, wreaking havoc, uncovering dirty truths, and investigating dark secrets among the wealthy elite at a posh private school in the People's Republic of Berkeley. In fact, it all reminds me a certain story we've all been working on for a while!  "Finding Clarity", $4.99 now on Scribd.

Congratulations, Laura! I look forward to reading your work!

And isn't it nice to know that our lives don't really revolve around Palin, no matter how interesting a puzzle that is.

Congratulations, LauraNovakwriter. If anyone can drag me kicking and screaming into the scary land of ebooks, it will be you. The first two chapters are great fun, and I look forward to purchasing the rest!

Congratulations, Laura! 'Finding Clarity' will be the perfect read to take on my upcoming trip. I don't currently have Kindle or other reader and admit to confusion as to how they work. I subscribe to the University of Chicago free monthly downloads which uses Adobe Digital Editions but I haven't used it yet.

Best wishes for success with your book!

OK, time to pony up bloggers and bloggees.

You want to waste you time browsing thru airport bookshops looking for that fun summer read? Search no more.

Want to read a romp thru the soft underbelly (that the world doth not perceive) in the hills of Berkinstocked-organic-green Berkeley?

Wanna help launch the next great mystery writer and have bragging rights to being a "first adapter?"

Finding Clarity is a kick to read...despite 300 some pages, I read it in two nights... and begrudged the clock its relentless hands that made me put it down betwixt.

First Laura, congratulations on getting your novel finished. I read the first 25 pages, so now I have wait to read the rest. I liked it so far, but have to wait before I can get to read the rest. Unsure about getting my next SocSec Disability check, so kind of Scroogy right now. Will this be published by a publisher, in paper form, or just at Scribd?
I can see a movie in the future... I'm thinking positive. Great Job, and thanks for sharing this with me.
Best wishes always,
Bill

Laura, Congratulations on your first novel. I purchased it yesterday and finished last night. What a fun read, I really enjoyed how you developed the characters esp. the deNutti's & the Ice Pick 4 and the ending caught me by surprise. Who'da thunk it. I can't wait for "Murder at the Mailbox"

Thank you, Suzanne, I think it's very easy to navigate and use as well. The viewing options are numerous and great. Not that I want to read in Gutenberg or Dos style letters, but the nighttime and easy on the eyes are terrific options.

KMR, I plan to roll out in other formats soon. Print will be down the line sometime. Most people are requesting Kindle, which I'll do next. Though Float will soon be available for the ipad as well.

Thank you all for your good wishes. What a project it's been; what a busy week it was last week!

BRAVA!

Finishing a writing project is, itself, reason to celebrate; that you've done it in a brand-new way and successfully navigated the learning curve is impressive indeed.

Getting one's work from brain to paper (or screen) is no small feat. For me, it begins with a lot of dragon-slaying: I always have to quiet the shrieking censors and voices telling me I'm a talentless idiot and my ideas are rubbish. Some days I'm more successful at this than others.

E-publishing is finally taking off. 'Bout time, too!

Laura: Finished your book at midnight. I couldn't stop reading. You should be very proud. It worked beautifully on so many levels. It has a great plot with a cool surprise ending, it has believable characters and real emotion, it has laugh out loud humor. I am so impressed. Congratulations.

Thank you Brad for that wonderful review. I am very proud of my first novel. And Teresa, so kind of you to share it with your huge network. That's what it's all about for authors today. And Litbrit, hey if you write fiction like your write your blog posts, then you've got it made. It's a tortuous process, no doubt. But I have every faith in you! Thank you.

A great day Laura, you put a lot of effort into this project and I hope you succeed. Like I told you I want to wait till you publish on the Kindle to buy it, so let me know when it comes out and I will do my part to help out with the promotion.

Take care.

Phanto

I kept waking up our dogs last night with my cackling while reading Clari! This is such a fun read, and so well written!!!

I started reading too late last night so I'm only about 1/3 of the way thru it, but I can't wait to get back into it this weekend!

Please take a bow, because you done real good!!! Now, for the encore...?

Jeff

P.S. I put a comment on yesterday's post by mistake, but leave it up there in case some of your readers might not read older posts.
