Friday Fun Day Is Everyday in Palin Mythology

We've just had the most wonderful post from reader, commenter and writer, Victoria. By discussing her beautifully written book about a woman, her pregnancy, sordid family tales, a baby boy, adoption, lies, deceit, murder and political power struggles - and no it's not a new book about Sarah Palin! - we were able to find some comfort in the fact that Palin-like nonsense and intrigue has existed throughout history. How we Make.It.Stop is for mankind to figure out each and every time history repeats itself. (Be sure and read the post below this if you haven't already and explore the links to find Victoria and her co-author's books.)

Speaking of repeating oneself...Brad and several other readers created composites of the latest Palin "flat to fluffy" photo. It's fascinating to see how many artistic people interpreted the photos in their own style. The repetition of the images reminds me that the effort to procure the photo was well worth the time and expense. And it reinforces for me of how patently absurd this story is. Sometimes I wonder:  What does Hillary think about this? What would Ann Richards have said? What did Janet Napolitano suspect? And why the hell is Molly Ivins not among us any longer when we need her most? Brad's up first with Lidia following last. H/T to all!

Thanks you artists, one and all, named and not. Eighteen days. Wow, just think of it. A miracle of modern foam.

Lovely summary! Except I'd say that the belly is 3 or 4 x times the size of the bosom in the Gusty photo.

Well my my my!

That photo of Sally Heath just warms my heart!

It's always touching to see a doting grandmother like Sally Heath who is absolutely ecstatic about her new grandchild!

She's obviously about to burst with tears of joy about their family's newest addition!!!

Sarah is such a fraud. Always has been.

Just sayin'.

The second picture showing Trig as the end result really drives home the ludicrousness of this farce.

Also, too, I forgot my manners on the last thread. Thank you Victoria and Laura for the wonderful discussion. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bloody Mary of England had a hysterical pregnancy, and will live on in history.

That does happen. A psychological quirk, where the body will swell and menses will cease, since the woman so badly wants to have a child.

Very important to royals of the past, and even royals of the present.

What peculiar need for a pregnancy did Palin have a pregnancy of conveniance? To deliver a special needs child to point out her fundi anti abortion stance? Crazy. A child, especially special needs is forever, not to be trotted out for a prop.

A pregnancy to cover for someone else?

When has Sarah Palin done anything for anyone other than Sarah Palin, aka/ Queen Esther, aka/ North Star, aka/Grizzley Mom?

What were her motives?

She has no boundries, we know that. She will use anyone and anything for her ambitions.

A fearless fronteirswoman who produces a ridiculous wild ride to show how tough she is? Come on, who will buy that?

The press did. And still does buy it.

Yes indeedy, the very press Palin sneers at daily. The "lamestream press'.

Like the Newspaper in Alaska that backed off the story when she pointed out how dependent the paper was for revenues from the state. How precarious the newspaper business is.

CNN, MSNBC, precarious?

Faux News, now there is a fearless organization. They spout lies fearlessly day after day after day.

The softball every thing out of her stupid lieing mouth. Lies, lies and more lies. Trouble making witch that she is.

And if anything explodes from her incendiary talk.

Innocence personified.

Blood libel?

Wow! Such good CLEAR graphics. What talented contributors you are. Just to show we are not all that talented (and to keep the Mar 14 photo in play), I'll contribute this tired, pathetic homemade old thing:

It is Friday. Low news day before a summer weekend when people enjoy the fine weather.

At least today is fine, quite a fine summer afternoon, and I am going swimming.

I hope to see some sort of response from the lamestream media over the weekend.

Or perhaps, considering their collective reluctance to check things out in the past, they will ignore something so obviously redolent of fraud and a hoax, even if it is waved under their gumshoe reporter noses.

Sam Spade, where are you?

Hercule Poirot? Miss Marple? Sir Peter Whimsey? It may not be Murder, but it is fraudulent and important to the Nation, and the World.

Who truly thinks this woman should be allowed to even vie for the position of POTUS?

I shudder at the thought or possiblity.

God help us. The media won't do its job.

It's up to us bloggers.

@ Ottoline

Your earlier photo/poster was ESSENTIAL to the entire process of Trig-Truthing. We had it as a resource to share with friends and send to many "news sources." It was not pathetic-- it was empowering!!

Thank you Ottoline for this creative, helpful tool that brought us along to the point where Brad, Laura, IM etc. could present us with these new, terrific photo comparisons.

Hi Conscious at last! Thx for kind words.

And to make that graphic, I stood on the shoulders of folks who corrected the dates for me (note klutzy correction of far right date under Gusty pix).

And, even more crucial, the now-forgotten (by me) contributor who first lightened the Mar 14 photo. I had looked at that photo MANY times before then, but "Hmmmmm" was all I could conclude until that seemingly simple act of turning up the "exposure" dial on any photo-viewing software.

Just to repeat, for those who don't work with photo tools, turning up the exposure is NOT what we call Photoshopping (i.e., altering a photo). It's just like adjusting the treble and bass on an audio. Just helps you perceive what's already there.

And the shoulders we ALL stood on, at first: AUDREY! None of this would have been possible if lots of us hadn't discovered that good gathering place for assessing the Palin Hoax.

Yesssssss! And we still have a ways to go.

Hi lilly lilly, Queen Mary (herself) thought she was pregnant when she was not, and it could have been a hysterical pregnancy (or two of them, actually). But tumors (fibroids or ovarian cysts) and/or cancer are also mentioned as possibilities that possibly contributed to her symptoms, or reasons to think she was pregnant (apart from wishful thinking). She died at 42 after many years of poor health. Wiki has such a good summary of her life.

My husband, the academic, looked at these photos this a.m. He is far less interested in the phony pregnancy than in our cynical and lazy press, and how it enabled not only Palin, but brought us the Bush ['who would you rather have a beer with?'] years with all of its sins.

His response was a simple "Give me a break." Translation--that woman is not pregnant.
(I am once again struck by the facial expression in the Gusty photo. It's the one we see when she think's she's pulled a fast one, as on "quitter day". Also there is no swayback at all.)

I guess what we have to wonder is what story the press is going to tell itself when this scandal finally breaks into the mainstream. What excuses are even possible? They can breakneck around the country following her bus, but they couldn't be bothered to cover the story that had been handed to them by the blogosphere?

Many years ago, back in the early forties, my mother knew a young woman who had none of the signs of pregnancy except the ever expanding belly.
She refused to go to the doctor, said if she had a tumor she did not want to know it.
Her tumor turned out to be a baby boy who weighed over 7 lbs.

Thank you all for all the work to continuously expose this fraud. I have ordered 2 books from the last post. They look intriguing, and I think my mom will like them as well. She reads a lot more than I; must be nice to be retired!
I do remember those first photos from Audrey and then on to Bree's site. So much has been ignored. And with the latest news of Van F in problems in DC through his AZ connections, it really makes me wonder who is behind all this. Please continue to dig and dig and question and question. We know it is not truth that we have been given, and I am so grateful that so many are willing to still continue to seek the truth... you are making progress. More and more people are beginning to question... as they should..thanks again..

Roseann Barr is running for president on the Green tea party platform.

I take her running as seriously as I would take Sarah Palin if she is foolish enough to declare.

Sarah Palin is going to get trimmed down to size in September, flatter than her grey-pink blob of bubble gum roasting on a NYcity sidewalk.

Haven't seen Sarah chewing her cud lately, though her kids do a lot of chewing.

We have all been thinking of the MSM as a monolithic blob, me too, but of course it is not. As in any business, there's owners, top mgmt, mid mgmt, workers. And I'm betting that the workers and folks much of the way up the mgmt chain are no more lazy, uncomprehending, evil than at other times.

So I'm predicting that when this all comes out, even if it's in 20 yrs, reporters/writers/managers will say something like

"I was interested but I could never get those stories published (for a variety of reasons)" or
"my paper's policy was to avoid those stories," or
'the advertisers would leave us if we covered that," or even
"I knew I'd get fired if I wrote about that."

I bet reporters read blogs too, on any subject they care about. They know.

With all that we know now about Rupert, and extrapolating that to his pals, I see a from-the-top management/control of news, incl the hoax.

Dearest Laura,

In light of the new "serious" and "more presidential" tones which C4P now requires of its Palin panty-sniffers, I find myself operating at a particularly sub-standard snark level today.

Wait... I just received a text from an associate who surmises that I'm suffering from a Vitamin C deficiency, and she suggests a couple of pitchers of margaritas at happy hour here in just a couple of hours. Hey, you know, I think I'm beginning to feel a little perkier already...

Where's your baby bump, Sarah? Oh, you returned it to CBJ? Hmmm, I'd think you'd want to store it in a safe, secure place, perhaps alongside Tri-G's Birth Certificate. You might need to use it again the next time one of your daughters gets knocked up. With their heads strategically placed up their own asses (or yours), those low-info sycophants of yours will never notice the difference anyway. Just sayin'.

Laura,

I think a great book could be written by exploring the Palin critics who have fallen by the wayside through threats of retribution. Audrey, who was my introduction to this travesty, did invaluable work and as I understand was deep sixed by the Palin forces. Also miss Bree, Lit Brit, etc. It would be interesting to review with these folks their reasons for setting aside their fruitful pursuit. I'm betting the answer isn't pretty!

Thanks to all who have persevered.

Jeff, don't you imagine that the disguise was left in a dumpster, somewhere between the hotel and Dallas airport? After all, we've heard that her state of pregnancy was not obvious from the Seattle-run flight attendants. The Dallas check-in has gone unremarked after all this time. She checked in without the costume I suspect.

Johnell--The Audrey silence was connected to the truly ghastly blogger Robert Stacy McCain, whose threats got too personal to be ignored. Bree, if my reading of an interview Floyd Orr did with her is correct, simply had other work to do, with financial compensation, so she deleted the blog. I still find it unfortunate that in doing that, an awful lot of excellent, not to mention witty, commentary disappeared with it. Litbrit is still going strong at her lovely blog, but my read is that she'd said it, and said it, and there simply wasn't much more to say. Once the journo-list "agreement" to "move along" went public, I think Deborah decided to wait for events to run their course. Which they are now doing, thanks to "new eyes" like Laura and Brad's. So, tick-tock.

Deb? Am I close?

Viola-Alex: THINNER face in Gusty photo, you say? Thinner?? I thought so too. That's why I was beating my dead horse/blind alley of an idea (originally suggested by someone else). Which was that the Gusty photos were said to be taken Apr 13 but were perhaps not taken then. Were taken later, when Palin was thinner. When the RNC stylists had started to work on her. To beef up the number and quality of photos that show her pregnant.

I still see no proof that the video was actually broadcast as stated, on the day the legislature ended its session. She could have asked Andrea Gusty and others to help her out a little -- saying "the RNC wants a photo of me the way I looked way back on Apr 13."

That would explain the better grooming, the lack of people in the hallways at supposedly 5PM, the dark windows everywhere 3 hrs before sunset, NO SCARF, the fact of her having the same clothes and hair as in the May (?) photo that shows her in her office in the Bailey book (with an unfamiliar-looking infant -- unless it's Tripp). Makes one's head spin. And essentially not important. What's important is

SHE WAS NOT PREGNANT AS STATED AND HOAXED US ALL.

Ok to shout that last bit, I think. Right?

(However, once the Hoax is out in the open [if ever], connecting the RNC stylists to the Gusty photo, with the implication that the RNC knowingly enabled the hoax -- well, that is actually pretty interesting.)

By the way, I have never seen a photo of Palin earlier in the day on Apr 13. Does anyone know of one? The day the legislature ended -- you'd think she might have been visible somewhere. The question being: did anyone notice the giant belly? Or perhaps there was no giant belly earlier in the day, only the usual scarf.

I can just SMELL the existence of a photo a few days before or after Apr 13 -- in addition to what we have. Someone has one. Now is the time, brave person, to bring it forth without identifying yourself. Send it to any of the good blog owners, to Joe McGinniss. Ask a techie how to put it up on the web without IDing yourself. Lots of ways to do it.

Or a copy of the actual broadcast of the 5PM news that aired on Apr 13. I am betting that the Gusty piece was not on it. Yes, there's the later Gusty video spliced to look like it WAS on the news, but I bet if Palin was on that broadcast, talking about the legislature closing (as she well might have been), she was wearing something else. Her hair was the same old bumpit-upswept style, and AND HER FACE WAS FATTER. Brad -- don't you have pals who know how to look back for the ACTUAL broadcast?

@Ottoline - alas, I think we were able to determine that the Gusty photos were taken back in April 2008. And when you think about it, Palin would be doing something very risky to involve another reporter in the hoax.

@nancydrew - I love your Dallas dumpster idea! However, I expect she did take it with her. Why? If something went wrong, and the puppy did not arrive, she would have had to fake the pregnancy a few more days.

@Pam - to me this photo is the definitive proof. The MSM will be more likely to cover it if it keeps popping up everywhere.

I have to think that a lot of people in the MSM have at least heard of the controversy - but many people in the mainstream have not. So - it's time to speak up at parties and let people know! With these photos we will no longer be labelled as crazy! Obsessed, perhaps :), but not crazy!

People do get Palin fatigue.

People do get threatened and prefer not to have to look over their shoulders, or wonder if the three guys at 11.p.m. saying they are selling steaks or lobsters are checking your home out for mayhem.

Everyone has their own tipping point, and so many people I know think she will never get any further, and will fall by the wayside. They say there are always zealots propping her up, but that they aren't important.

I say why take a chance. Keep up the pressure. If one of us pauses and falls back, there is someone knew to pick up the banner.

No Sarah Palin in the White House.

@nancydrew, that's pretty accurate! I am still completely convinced the pregnancy was a hoax, but you are right, I have not had anything new to add to the discussion. And like everyone else, I'm at that point where I'm waiting (and waiting and waiting) for someone in the mainstream press to break this story, which is now as much about about their own nefarious and unethical behavior--if not *more* about it--than about the fading North Star herself.

Because when you think about it, if our press is this much of a joke--and given the way they covered for Palin all these years, after allowing her to come rather uncomfortably close to the White House in 2008, they *are* a joke--what will be the next story they ignore because it makes people uncomfortable or because it's not "nice" to call a liar a liar? What shady, mendacious politician will get elected--what illegal wars will be waged--because lazy, self-interested journalists and a corrupt corporate media abandon their responsibilities?

Oh yes, as comeonpeople and Lydia17 remind us, Chuck's body language and statements are a dead give away.

If everything was on the up and up why would he say "You can't prove that!"

If he was telling the truth, he'd say so and not be bothered by questions. Indeed, the Heaths & Palins would encourage investigations because they'd have nothing to hide.

But, by making that statement, he is moving the dialogue to the issue of deniability rather than truth. This is because he knows he is lying.

@Lydia17 - I really like your photo comparison above. I think the breast/belly illustration is powerful. Although I doubt it will convince diehards, it might give some members of the 4th estate enough confidence to tread on the frozen pond.

Someone really needs to make a composite of that first flat belly pic saying "supposedly 7 months pregnant" (because supposedly she gave birth one month early, so she would have been 7 months pregnant in that pic, not 8), next to a bunch of pics of other women who are 7 months pregnant. All of them with clothing on, so they are in the same state Palin was in.

I think having the first pic up and then the Gutsy pic kind of hurts our case, because some people really do believe that a belly can pop that quickly.

I don't know anyone who can seriously say that they've ever seen a 7 months pregnant woman look like Palin does in that first pic, though, so it'd be pretty powerful to put that pic up next to a bunch of pics of other women who are 7 months pregnant.

Could you do that?
