Oh Happy Day!

10/5/2011

She's Out. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. Open thread. Let's celebrate. Make it count.
And to Steve Jobs:  universal thanks for changing our universe for the better. Tonight we celebrate your life, and the gifts you gave us, as well. God speed.

ANd this just in from McCain:

In a tweet responding to the news, John McCain, R-Ariz., whose selection of Palin as his running mate in 2008 skyrocketed her to fame, said he was confident Palin would "continue to play an important role in our Party."

"Sarah announces she's not running for president - I am confident she'll continue to play an important role in our Party and for our nation," he Tweeted.

Thanks a bunch, John, as one of our beloved commenters says!

Thanks to this blog and others for the hard work keeping her feet to the fire! After Christie took just a weekend to again say no, she was looking more the fool for dithering. She also too, knew the scrutiny would be over the top compared to the two months in 2008.

RIP Steve Jobs.

Strange hour...
Jobs dies - RIP SJ
Palin quits - FU SP (although I'm sure she will rise to grift again.)

And protest on Wall Street just gets bigger and bigger.

Power to the 99%!!!

Sarah's non-run announcement is trumped, sadly, by the death of Steve Jobs. May he rest in peace.

yeah well...um...damn. I wanted her to run for my own personal amusement.

This isn't actually the end of her political influence. In many ways this is a worse scenario for the country. If she had run she would have taken part in debates. The press scrutiny would have been huge. Her campaign would have been a disaster and possibly would have destroyed her. Now she gets to play the same type of role she played in the 2010 election. Her power is less, her influence is less but she still has a voice. I don't really know how strong the voice will be yet. I guess there is a good chance that there will be so much going on in the election that she will be forgotten. I kind of doubt this though. One of her skills is to get people talking about her.

What would be perfect now would be for all the people on the right who hate her to take this opportunity to knife her. What really is holding any of them back now? All the McCain campaign people can spill can't they? There is no disloyalty to the party because she aint running.

Dunno if they will do this though. I imagine that now she isn't running, instead of thinking of her as dangerous they will think of her as a useful tool they can wheel out at various times to push a particular message.

Next, the revolution of the 99%.

Sarah Palin, the Koch brothers, Murdoch and all the others who wanted it all.

I hope you, the masters of the universe, have a few sleepless nites.

Well, Sarah may have quit AGAIN, but that doesn't mean we should. After we get done celebrating, we need to get back to work exposing her fraudulent activity. BabyGate has to be blown open. She may not be running, but the disgrace of her vp candidacy, and the cowardice of the press, has to still be exposed.

I hate to admit it, but I was hoping she'd declare so that the Republicans would be forced to unlock her closet and let all the skeletons fall out to sweep her off the board.

That way we'd be rid of her. She's not going away unless someone makes her go away. And I want her gone.

Very sad about Steve Jobs.
He beat alot of odds for a long time.
I sincerely hope that his death trumps Palins announcement in the news cycle. Jobs is someone whose life should be touted and celebrated.
I wonder what the tipping point was for Palin...I hope it is open season on everything about her and she goes away forever.

So if John McCain says SP will continue to play an important role in [his] Party," that's all the more reason why the hoax is still as relevant as ever. Still as important to expose, along with those responsible for it, esp looking **UP** the chain of command.

Brad -- with all the comments on the previous thread, it seems possible to write up your scenario, even if there are still uncertainties. But not in the broad strokes.

Compare and contrast: two lives.

One man inspired by the potential in us all, and what we can create if given the right tools. So he creates tools that change millions of lives. And if you really look into his history, he has changed every life on the planet when you simply consider what the term GUI means.

The other life: bound up in pettiness, jealousy and hatred as a "force motrice." Scrabbling to make her vapidity somehow significant.

One has an end to life the same day as the other ends her political life. I am mourning one and rejoicing the other.

Conscious at last!

now down to business.

I credit all the Palin watchdog teams for this great news. May they continue to make Palin's public life difficult.

I won't be happy until this woman is collecting 00 for public speaking and her public voice is silenced.

I know I peddled the PBS Prohibition documentary on here several times. Forgive me for one last reference. Women brought Prohibition to the U.S. But it was also a woman who pulled Prohibition down.

Her name was Pauline Sabin. She believed the hypocrisy of Prohibition was killing the country. She hated that Womanhood was associated automatically with any political belief. Her organization of women AGAINST Prohibition was the power that brought it down.

Now's the chance to right the wrong that was Sarah Palin and the mockery she has made of public office, the role of professional women, and the calling of motherhood.

Laura,

Thank you for helping to re-ignite the fire under the "babygate" hoax. Without the work of all the bloggers revealing Palin's past, there's a strong chance that she'd have been able to not only get the GOP nomination, but the Presidency, too. The bloggers have told the stories about her past that the MSM has refused to address, let alone investigate. Tonight is definitely a reason to celebrate.

As one who sat through "The Defeated" I can tell you I have no doubt that it was meant to be her "campaign" - why pay staff or show up to make speeches?

Now Pbots trying to drag in friends and family to watch it will be a farce. "Oh she COULD have won in 2012 if she WANTED to.. she just didn't want to hassle with running and be "shackled" with a "title".

I've been reading the blogs for 3+ years now and rarely comment, but today is a big day!! I admit I thought she was delusional enough to run....but did anyone else see Rachel Maddow tonight? She pointed out that SP said she wasn't going to seek the "GOP nomination" for 2012 - which doesn't preclude a third party run. I think that she could be just biding her time - I read somewhere that independents have until Jan 1 to declare their candidacy? In any event, I am just so sick of her and the poison she spreads throughout this country - IT HAS TO STOP!!!

@ KP - excellent catch. "SP said she wasn't going to seek the "GOP nomination" for 2012 - which doesn't preclude a third party run"

Knowing $P's history of deception, it is not unthinkable that she may try as an independent. Not to win, but to keep fleecing her sheeple for their last dime and to keep her name in the news. She's a publicity whore. Probably figures that if her 'enemy' Lisa Murcowski could win as a write in, then she could do at least as well.

We cannot stop the investigations. She's like a hydra, chop off one head and 2 more grow back to replace it.

Sarah's announcement kind of pissed me off, I wanted her to run so she could finally be properly vetted, exposed for the frauds and held accountable. But it's all good. She won't fade away, but she'll slowly rust.

It's a bittersweet news day for me. Steve Jobs affected so many people's lives in the most revelant way, People like him are rare, he made technology that all people could embrace and integrate into their lives.

I saw a flash of the Coupertino headquarter with the flags at half mast. Under the Apple name are the words:

I think that's a metaphor for the human experience, and how I'd like to remember Steve Jobs.

Not to be a buzzkill - but I guess I am.
Happy as anyone to see Sarah sidelined...but she is only the puppet.

As is already being stated here...we are up against a determined force with deep pockets (the "Hydra")...

and only Sarah ruined this for herself, because she was not a smart enough puppet and tried to whitewash all the dirt in her closets.

Next puppet needs to be tackled, vetted, revealed, and defeated.

But first, maybe I'll sleep.

Here are my musings on what she might do next if she still craves money/attention in sort of vague chronological order (sort of):

1) The endorsement tease.

She mentioned on Greta tonight that candidates had already started calling her. She can surely draw this out if she wants to. If the media comes to believe she has pull, then think of what a meal she can make of it. Imagine candidates meeting with her with the media camped outside, then her coming out making comments. ....She hasn't quite decided yet, but she certainly enjoyed hearing from candidate X blah blah blah.

My guess is that ultimately it would come down to 2 choices. Either she endorses Perry or stays on the sidelines not endorsing anyone because she doesn't want to pick the loser. Either way there is mileage for her in dragging out making a decision. Her money making potential is tied to her perceived influence.

2) The election campaign.

She doesn't have to make an actual difference in the election. What she needs to do is convince the media that she was significant in the election. This is basically what happened in 2010. It worked then so why not do it again.

3) She gets a position in the administration.

A hideous, and to be fair unlikely possibility is that she trades her endorsement for a position in government. I can only see this happening if Perry wins and she endorses him and he feels the endorsement made a difference.

4) A run for Senate.

So much would be going on in the general election that the attention on her by the media would be lessoned. She might be able to get the seat in Arizona. Whilst she did that she could also campaign nationally. she probably won't do this though, especially if the major reason for her not going for the presidency was her fear of her personal scandals breaking on her.

Just my musings. I might be talking crap. I often do. :-)

It is true that if you're president there will be a lot of lies told about you. Just look what has happened to Obama! He's been implied to be a friend of terrorists (even though it turns out that he killed bin Laden), had his citizenship questioned (Sarah endorsed Trump's bringing this up - where's Trig's bc, honey?), been accused of creating "death panels" when he was trying to give people health care!

All venom dripping from the queen of mean, the mistress of misleading malevolence and outright lies - the quitter from the north who proves again that she is a nasty grifter!

@viola-Alex, the Edwin Hawkins version is my favorite too. It made the ok-but-predictable movie "Secretariet" a total tear jerker for me.

It brought up memories for me of being ten or so, listening to WRKO, hearing songs I liked, and then burning a playlist in my brain to sing in my head when I hopped on my bike to fly carefree through town. Full circle we come to Steve Jobs, who transformed that mental playlist into the real thing, among other things.

Thanks, Steve Jobs, for reminding us about the wonder of human potential. Thanks but no thanks, Palin, for being a beacon of negative energy and pointlessness.

Did she never have those wonderful moments of childhood, on her bike, or fishing, or wherever, where the great wonder and opportunity of the world inspired her?

I agree about the deep pockets not funding her. It's a Hillary sitch all over again. (Except Hillary has intelligence)

The dems threw H C under the bus for their bright and shiny (albeit incapable) empty black suit.

The GOP has moved on as well.

Women don't belong in the upper echelons or Govt. That is still evident.

All in all, sarah won yestderday. Now people who attack her are just hateful people with no priorities. Now she can just hang with the family with a huge weight on her. Family means everything to her. People lie when they say otherwise.

The GOP may have used gender, but the dems used race, creating a strong divide. A divide Sarah has no hand in.

The dems knew anyone who opposed their safe candidate in 08 would wrongly be called racist and that's despicable.

But those dems will not win again.

AKRNC, all the hateful talk about her youth/childhood is a lie. Sarah never said boo to anyone then. She still has her friends from then. It's called jealousy. Pure and simple. Cheryl Welch is a big lie. She rewrote history for her pleasure. Yvonne B is another lie. Her events didn't happen. I can speak of those things specifically. Everything else is he said/she said.

Do remember her college roommate who spoke during 08 election. She didn't utter a bad word about Sarah. Glen Rice spoke highly of her. It's awful people choose to slander her family members to get to her or just to be hateful. Esp when all of them have been the epitome of grace and dignity.

If I were Sarah uncle or father, I'd be in jail for mass homicide. There's no way I could taje all the lying and hate sitting down. Sarah may be the strongest person in politics.

No one else has endured even half the hate she has.
It's easy to jump on a bandwagon when you know you won't be ridiculed for it.

Also, she has the support of both her and Todds families. Any tension regarding that is a lie. They are some of the biggest family people around.

I agree, we need to keep going on this – but at a more relaxed pace for me. I gotta paying job to keep up with.

This is teriffic news!
Three years to prepare, and she couldn't do it!!!
Three years to learn, gain experience, and grow, and what did she do with that time? Scraped as much money out of her adoring hundreds as she could, and ran with it! Paid plastic surgery, huge houses, road trips... all on the many dimes of those who believed in her.

Sorry, no refunds...!

She doesn't want a government job. She already had one, and couldn't handle it. And nobody is going to offer her a job in government, unless it's in AK. And AK has spoken loud and clear that they want her nowhere near their government, because she has proven she can't be trusted to do the job. She's proven she can't even represent her own people, despite all that they give her by way of her PAC.
She's a lazy, sociopathic loudmouth, and that's all she's ever been.

Family first? Was she pushing the sled/wagon with her kids in it forward in FRONT of her when she was running for mayor, rather than pulling?

Putting Bristol's big ol' padded boobs in front of rumours about her fake pregnancy with Trig? Was that putting "family first"?

Making sure Willow wasn't charged for vandalizing the Morlock home?

Shielding herself from boos on the ice using Piper?

Falseley accrediting herself with the title of Mother Of A Combat Vet?

Holding Trig, her living, breathing Wite-Out, up like Simba, at the RNC?

She puts her family first, all right. By using them.

And we iz all just a bunch of pathedik h8rz! I love this poorly-written summation of Sarah's capabilities:

"Now she can just hang with the family with a huge weight on her."

LOL, TK.
I was not asking if she had an all-American family, whatever that's code word for. I was not wondering whether family was "emphasized", whatever that looks like in terms of deed vs. lip service. I do not question whether or not she spent time outside (biologically necessary or not, WTF).

My rhetorical question, restated: where in the course of her adult life do we see evidence of the joy so evident in Steve Jobs' life and work? Hint: we don't.

Brad and DS incidence: one would expect a higher incidence in fundie territory or where abortions are unavailable (remote areas, poor areas). Only live births are counted, not conceptions. But you're right. Apart from educating ourselves, it's not a key issue for us.

SP not running: So what? It's not about SP so much as about her enablers, funders, advisers (Dominionists) and the MSM. Nothing has changed for me. Just shifted a little.

Watching the circus around the Republican 2012 candidates makes me question the role the DS birth actually played in her VP nomination.

Richard Nixon was intellectually and professionally qualified to run for President. He wasn't personable or charismatic so he needed professionally marketing to create a package/story more pleasing to average Americans.

The Republican party of today is completely dependent on gimmicks. They don't gloss-up up the awkward intellectual anymore. Instead, they find the gloss first. The party seeks candidates as if they are pitching a new TV show with quirky characters. The candidates' actual ideas or governing history are almost completely irrelevant.

Who are the "exciting" 2012 Republican candidates? So far, they've pitched us the pizza businessman, the blow-dried Texan executioner, and the shiny-haired Palin 2.0 from MN. When those characters didn't sell well, people started crying out for a fat Governor who yells about unions. Nobody cares about the policies. Republican candidates with actual leadership experience--Hunstman, Johnson--are ignored by most Republican voters.

I don't think anyone planned a Palin pregnancy to win the VP spot. Rather, Republican party operatives saw Palin as a pretty object they could market. It didn't matter what she knew or what she believed. A DS birth was equivalent to Perry's record-breaking number of executions. A liability was turned into a marketing feature.

Look at this email:

http://www.crivellawest.net/palinAll/pdf/12543.pdf

Note that no one has any interest in Palin's actual ideas about climate change. No one discusses the actual merits of Pawlenty's "careful" plan to control greenhouse emissions. They just want to understand which messages are best for selection as McCain's Vice President.

I believe the unplanned pregnancy came first. It became a marketing feature later.

Vain and delusional Palin was in the right place at the right time--a time when a political party, bankrupt of ideas or ethics, needed a pretty object to bring crowds to McCain rallies.

Sarah Palin is a performance artist.

She is severely mentally ill, but she can get it together, with help, to put on a show.
She can give a speech, engage talking heads with the help of a teleprompter and so on.

She cannot administer effectively because she cannot actually comprehend what is going on.

She does not want to be a senator, a congressperson or the president. She is totally incapable of meeting the demands of these positions.

She wants to earn $$$ as a performance artist. She wants attention. She has been used by power brokers who hoped they could mold and control her. They found out that they couldn't. Her mental illness and limited intelligence constrained her performance.

Still, we need to continue to unmask and expose the truth about babygate, dairygate, etc. The saga of Sarah Palin will be a cautionary tale and a highly educational one! Right now, someone on Palingates called Anon1253 is giving lots of inside information about Dairygate. MeAgain is ever present and helpful. "Fred's" book about babygate should be coming out soon.

I think we are entering a new phase. We will continue to examine and expose the truth about this ugly chapter in our political history and move forward.

For us, this changes nothing, or shouldn't.

If she thinks that quitting again will shield her from the revelations that will come from laying her lies open to the light, it is possible she is mistaken in that assumption.

Is there any among us that believe that her crimes are any less accountable, just because she quit again?

The story has grown beyond this simple woman and her brazen and shameless rise to power and wealth by exploiting the fears of those as simple as she; the fear of the "other".

It has now become another facet of how corporate america has failed us, by controlling the content and distribution of the "news".

Simple Sarah-just a tool, and a user of lesser tools further down the foodchain, that "shackled" their hopes and dreams and demanded their treasure, to feed the myth that corporate media refused to even report, much less expose.

All this to say, regrettably it is not yet time to rest Laura, and all of us in your community, and all the other places dedicated to the truth of this travesty, this near-disaster that was purposely perpetrated on the body politic against the best wishes of the future of America.

Thank you Laura. Than you Brad. Thanks to all that labour in this most worthy cause.

Bristol said months ago that she had made up her mind at that point in an interview on T.V.. But Sarah was gathering in the dollars playing games with her bots, "help me decide by sending in your savings".

Perhaps things were getting too hot to handle, with the film, McGinniss and his book, Brad and Laura re-opening the Trig controversy.

Things were too hot, just as they were in Alaska before she quit that governor gig.

To think she says she is going to be deciding who to elect? HUH?? Doesn't she remember the people who tanked when she got involved?

Hi everyone! Thanks to ALL of you sweet duckies who gave me options so I don't have to transcribe the rest of these by hand. I daresay a couple of these solutions sound as though I could handle them!

Now, while it makes me want modestly avert my eyes and shrug "nooo...go on!" to those of you who say I had something to do with Sarah's choice not to run...I thank you for the ego pat but I'm afraid you are giving me too much credit.

The truth is, the decision was likely made months ago...only not by Sarah Palin. The reason she was chosen originally is because she was viewed as a puppet. The same people who stole the election and gave it to Bush, the same people who manufactured WMD hysteria, the same people who strong armed McCain and told him he would not be choosing Lieberman. Rove, Paxson, Cheney, Ailes...it's an incestuous pot of evil.

I think they waited until they saw even with ALL the strings they could pull, the polls they could rig, the smoke and mirrors which could make the American public see what these people want them to see...they could not get Sarah elected. It literally just isn't possible.

However, I still think I have a place that fits one of the thorns in Sarah's side. As long as she maintains that she's going to influence America and her government...I will be here, mentioning that she has a patchy bald spot the size of a silver dollar and Willow took a picture with her I-phone and showed it to a bunch of people. Is that a tiny little insignificant thing? Yes it is. But it will make her spend time here, posting under multiple names and trying not to sound like herself...and that is time she's NOT spending putting crosshairs on the faces of innocents. Or manufacturing a lie like "death panels"...which continues to take untold lives as people who desperately need public healthcare go without it due to Sarah's single handed derailing.

And I will continue to take a bit of snarky delight when something like Sarah mentioning Trig today happens...not a mention publicly in MONTHS, Sarah? And then today you just get a wild hair to talk about your "gift from God"?

Child, you are so predictable I wish there was a "what will Sarah do next?" casino game. I'd make more money than you fleeced from your followers making them think you would run for president.

Wow. More nails in that Faux News coffin.

The morning crew was basically mocking her today, after her big announcement.

From HuffPo: "Palin announced Wednesday night that she would not be running for the presidency in 2012. Her decision was met with little surprise, but the "Friends" crew went even further, openly mocking her announcement."

..."The difference, I think, between Chris Christie and Sarah Palin ... [was] there were tons of people publicly asking Chris Christie to run for president," Carlson said.

"The rebukes are just the latest sign of a potentially fraying relationship between Palin and Fox News. She was widely believed to have enraged CEO Roger Ailes by making her infamous "blood libel" statement about the Gabrielle Giffords shooting. Ailes was later reported to feel she was an "idiot" (something he denied) and, just on Wednesday, he told the Associated Press that the only reason he hired her was because she was "hot and got ratings."

V-A, she initially said she wouldn't seek the "GOP nomination." Then Levin asked if she'd consider 3rd party, and she said no, that a 3rd party candidate would split the votes and guarantee an Obama re-election.

Sarah could also be chosen to balance a ticket if Romney wins the GOP presidential nomination, just as she was chosen to balance McCain and bring out the base.

The Dominionist/GOPers would totally go with Palin again if they thought it would work and if Romney can be as easily blackmailed as McCain.

Sarah could also run for Senate in Alaska or Arizona or any number of other elective offices. Or as Viola-Alex suggests she could run on a third party ticket and negotiate a deal or appointment for herself in some position of power.

Every character in many novels in some way based on someone living or dead. Usually a composite. Anyone reading about the VP candidate charactor of Tara pretty much knows it is Sarah Palin being exposed as the whack job she is. She is a public figure with a history in video. And obviously a nut.

You think the lawyers at the publishing house didn't know this?

The moment that Sarah quit the governorship of Alaska, she ended her career as in any elected office. She was never running for office this time; she was just pretending to run.

Of course, she has done a tremendous amount of damage, being the tweeter for those against health care and other sensible programs. So we need to continue to expose the truth.

My hope is that she will continue to lose influence and income. I can't see FOX continuing to pay her much longer, unless she engages in some reverse blackmail (which could be fairly effective). Hopefully some of her followers will no longer be duped into giving her money. And so someone who knows the truth will find that it is more profitable to speak than to continue to remain silent.

I know we've had great hopes from Me Again - who I think is legit - but it is possible that person has a conduit into the current situation and knows the truth without actually having the proof. I still want the proof because I want the country to see how shallow the MSM is.

I imagine Sarah frantically shopping a new reality show or a line of shoes and scarves to endorse. Otherwise, she may be gone for good. I don't think there's any chance she'll pop up as a third party candidate or be selected for the VP slot or any position in a possible GOP administration.

She's toast as a candidate and office holder thanks to the blogs, Joe McGinniss, Steve Schmidt, and Nicole Wallace. I wish I were as certain the media was done with her. Many pundits still seem to think she's hot tamale property the public craves.

She put on airs about having a big impact in 2012 but will she retain any politically relevance? Even if a GOP candidate or two seek her endorsement for the primaries, I think the tune will change in the general election. Other signs of relevance will be whether Fox renews her contract and whether her PAC can continue to bring in contributions to support the consultants, lawyers, and family travel. Her future speaking fees hang in the balance.

I do think babygate is still important. Our democracy suffers as long as politicians and the media deceive us. My hope that the media would hold her accountable is now dashed but I'm not ready to give up on loosened lips in Wasilla. She's lost power without the threat of a possible presidency over people. I'm also wondering what it would take to get a Senate committee to investigate the candidate vetting process in light of the Schmidt/Wallace revelation that they kept a mentally ill candidate on the ballot.

@curioser--Absolutely, the Senate should investigate the candidate vetting process, and the so-called vetting of Sarah Palin in 2008 in particular. In Nicolle Wallace's book "It's Classified" the POTUS is threatened with impeachment when her VP's mental illness comes to light. The question was "What did the POTUS know and when did she know it?" What McCain and Co. (Including Schmidt and Wallace) tried to foist upon the American people was criminal, in my book.

I have such mixed emotions today.

My only personal computers besides the Tandy which was the first (no hard drive, 64K onboard memory, LOL) have been Macs. I fell in love with them, learned on them, became a professional in the IT field because of them, and have been the proud owner of at least half a dozen Macs since 1990. I also have/had an iPod, iPhone and iPad. My daughter works for Apple and when she got the job I was totally thrilled! May Apple have backup visionaries in place to step up to the plate in the future. What an incredible career Steve Jobs had, and what an incredible human being he was. The legacy he left is hard to match.

And then we have the inimitable Mrs. Todd Palin (although Tina Fey did a pretty good impersonation) who finally retreated instead of reloading. It's hard to find joy in this news for me. Had she run for President, she would have been destroyed as a public figure, forever and ever. Since she backed off the edge of that precipice, though, it prolongs her demise and she gets to still play pundit and would-be power-broker for a while longer. And I don't relish the thought of seeing her or hearing her in mass media channels.

The good news, since it appears she has been cut loose by the "Hydra" (I love that term) is that she may not have access to such a rich stream of funding now. I am convinced she grew very accustomed to luxury accommodations and first class travel, and the power that money brings. Without those anonymous funds flowing in, she'll be forced to fly on her own broomstick and it will be difficult to play kingmaker on a shoestring.

The bad news is that she'll try to wing it, maybe using Todd to strong-arm lesser candidates into coughing up bucks for her support and endorsements. When she simply can't overcome her mental crash-times though, and fails to show up as promised again and again, sooner or later even the most devout Dominionist Tea-partier will have seen the writing on the wall and avoid association with her like the plague.

I envision her winding up in some obscure cult haven in Montana, emerging once in a while, with unkempt hair and dirty robes, to entreat her remaining faithful cultists to put more money in the donation bucket, and then stumbling back to her pill- and pillow-filled chamber (where many Blackberries met their untimely deaths from being thrown against the walls) but no canned goods were allowed. I guess we'll see...

1:45PM, I haven't the time to address your entire post at the moment, but I wanted to comment on one detail you mentioned, and that is "heavy travel in the month before Trig's alleged arrival".

To the tune of TWENTY-TWO flights in the 44 days between announcing her pregnancy and when Trig was "born". Now that includes connecting flights, some very short journeys, and a few non-government related flights but still.

Can you imagine flying 20,000 miles when you're "leaking" every day, pregnant with a fragile baby whose Down syndrome diagnosis alone would cause a physician to be very cautious about allowing air travel in the third trimester? My source has told me of a conversation which occurred last year...Sarah was talking to someone who she hadn't seen in years and the person mentioned an event they had invited Sarah to which she did not attend. Sarah seemed not to recall the invite at first, but then recognition lit her eyes and she exclaimed "oh, riiiiight!!! I wanted to come so bad but I was pregnant with Pipe and my doctor said I wasn't allowed to fly after six months because I was [whispered] over thirty-five!"

My source said several people in the room looked at each other, obviously all thinking "does she realize what she just said?"

This took on a whole new level of relevance to me once my source told me who is said to have delivered one Piper Grace Palin...ding ding ding, our own mute "Family Physician of the Millennium" thanks to Sarah--Dr Cathy Baldwin Johnson.

So per CBJ...
Woman (small town mayor) in her thirties with a healthy fetus...CBJ says--you keep your feet on the ground, missy.

Woman (huge state governor) in her forties whose membranes have been "leaking" for thirty days*, with a Down syndrome fetus who also has a hole in his heart and other possible issues...CBJ says--hey, bring me back one of those neat wing pins from the pilot!

*it is apparently not even possible to leak amniotic fluid for so long...it would run out very quickly.

And the air travel is documented in large part by her executive schedule, so it's not like she can claim this is just a rumor or misunderstanding.

There was one MeAgain post before the one Olivia posted above, relevant to a question about whether MA may have given away her source:

"9:57AM...considering there is, what...several hundred MILLION people in the lower 48 right now, I highly doubt that bit of information "gives her away".

I have said many, many times that my source is one of Palin's small circle of staff/advisors. What am I "giving away" that hasn't been known from the day I started posting here?

But because of what you're implying, I'll go ahead and say it--my source is not traveling with Sarah and will not be attending any of her upcoming events. She is there for a few days only due to a family issue. As far as I am aware based on what she has said...numerous people will be traveling with Sarah, but none of her official/paid staff, advisors, or PAC staff. (although she is taking a couple of hangers-on who I do not consider actual staff) Hells bells Trudy, they are all probably feeling like it's Christmas, having such a break from Sarah.

If true, the comment Sarah made about being told not to fly after 6 mos demonstrates again the unbelievable level of cluelessness.

I really have my doubts about whether even Romney would be willing to have her on the ticket. The woman who was his lt gov was intelligent and they seemed to work well together. It was reported he ran off his predecessor, another inexperienced young female governor (and the only US governor who has proven she gave birth while in office.)

Well, thank goodness, we now have some report of Dr. CBJ giving good, evidence based medical advice. Of course Sarah was advised against flying in her third trimester with Piper. Being "older" in that pregnancy also required caution, especially with her history of two miscarriages. Very good Dr. CBJ! See, we knew the University of Washington is a damn fine medical school. You are family practice physician and not a high risk ob/gyn. You would never take any risks with your clients.
So, why did you stray so far with your patient's next "pregnancy"?
Dr. CBJ, come out, come out, wherever you are. Time to clear this whole thing up and salvage your reputation.

Wow. It looks like all the "friend" posts have been purged from Sarah's Facebook wall, even all those super-happy-dooper "Run Sarah Run" ones. All that's left are her posts, links, etc., and the bot comments on those, several of which say "so & so is a TROLL" but so & so's comment is gone.

LOTS of time spent sanitizing the record.

Sarah, you can run from the truth, but you cannot hide. :)

@Banyan, you said "Sarah could also be chosen to balance a ticket if Romney wins the GOP presidential nomination."

The Romney angle is interesting. Bailey's book discussed how Romney helped Palin get elected as AK Gov. Romney was in charge of the RGA in 2006. According to Bailey, the RGA violated campaign finance laws by assisting Palin with advertising, opposition research, and polling.

Without the RGA support, it's possible that Palin might have been defeated by Knowles or Halcro in Nov 2006.

Romney was motivated to get as many Republican governors elected as possible in 2006. Businessman Romney would have hired Knowles before Palin for a job at Bain, but in an election, all Romney cared about was getting another win in the R column. Because TV advertising costs are so low in AK, $250K buys much more airtime and influence in AK elections than other states. It's easier for outside groups to sway/buy elections in cheaper media markets.

I think Romney wants Palin to go away. He doesn't want to remind people of his associations with her. He has plenty of money and many rich friends. Someone will find a well-paying job for Palin where she can't to do much damage to Romney's campaign.

I love that MeAgain post.

So, why does CBJ stay silent? What role did she play in the hoax? Did she book SP a room at MatSu? Supply her with a newborn? All in exchange for SP's fundie credentials, so she could pursue the fundie agenda in government?

What does SP have on CBJ? CBJ must absolutely loathe SP now. Come on, CBJ, be a real Christian and tell the truth. And you do not need to say who the mother is, if you don't want to. All you need to say is that you never gave out such nutty medical advice.

rubbernecking -- you say "According to Bailey, the RGA violated campaign finance laws by assisting Palin with advertising, opposition research, and polling." From reading the book, it seems pretty well documented. And yet it is another -gate: a clear violation that remains ignored.

V ictoria: as you may recall, I'm the one who keeps wondering if CBJ had any role at all in the BabyHoax -- no phone calls with advice re flying (because SP was not pregnant), no medical letter (which someone forged), no delivery of a baby on Apr 18, but possibly hospital visit arranger that day. Let's say CBJ "clears her good name" with normal people who would like the ethical thing to be done. By doing so, she exposes the BabyHoax and also wrecks her reputation among the fundies, who are her neighbors, church pals, and patients. Ahhhh, ethics: so tough at times.

Of course, CBJ does not want to lie and say she delivered Trig on Apr 18 either, because she can see that eventually the hoax will be revealed. Best to say nothing, unless she was a principled person. But no hope of that at this point.

So she must join all the other enablers who are fervently hoping it will all just go away, and no need to be quizzed by a reawakened MSM (is that even possible?). So lots of forces to keep the MSM blackout on this story in place. And us bloggers are the only counterforce, hoping to reveal it. With writers like McGinniss on the fence.

Will "Fred" tip the scales?

I remember when Palin was included in the Republican ticket I read an article by someone who was commenting on Palin's decision to have her Down Syndrome child. She said the equivalent of, "That is all I need to know to vote for her, that decision speaks volumes."

I can't get over how many people place their trust in someone based on these considerations as opposed to whether they are qualified or not to be president. There seems to be a myth in America that if a person shares some core values that makes them competent to handle all the myriad of complexities that public office entails.

Now we have the official confirmation that Palin is not up to snuff but apparently McCain considers her qualified to play an important role in the Republican party and the nation.

Oh well...

I find it very interesting..this insurance issue. Alaska blogs have tried every which way to crack into the deception.

Just the other day on ABC news a commercial ran re: Steve Jobs/Ipad and Sarah Palin was talking about Trig and how he could not speak. Evidentally Trig communicates via sign language and loves his Ipad.

This woman has no shame.

@phantomimic...completely agree. The Octomom made the decision to have 8 babies, knowing that some or all of them would certainly have disabilities. Would that make her supremely qualified also to become VP or president in the eyes of these voters?

@Olivia Precisely, and there is also the opposite situation. A man may not be an ideal candidate from the "values" point of view because say he is a womanizer (remember Clinton?). But he may have what it takes to be an excellent president based on the "gets the job done" point of view. Of course we would like the president to embody certain core values, but we have to be aware that we are restricting the pool of competent candidates by doing this.
