If you don't already know Teddy the Porcupine, then you should. Here he is celebrating Easter with a most excellent piece of green thingy. At around the 1:20 mark, he wishes everyone a happy holiday. I believe he is also reminding us to be good neighbors, to welcome strangers, to feed the poor, and to know hope. No matter how dark it gets, the light always shines again. And no matter how tall your bunny ears, you will always be a porcupine. Happy Easter and Passover everyone!

What extreme cuteness. That sweet little voice. I love his greeting. I had no idea teeth would be so long. Yes, Happy Holiday to everyone.

I agree: cuteness in the extreme! His St. Paddy's day one was great as well (eating and making noise) but I never got to putting that one up. Wonder what he does for the Fourth of July? 4/7/2012 11:50:57 pm
I love it! There is nothing quite like the enjoyment of a fine meal.

I know...and I never tire of hearing Teddy enjoy whatever he's working on. His owner sounds adorable too.

Oh good. Can't wait. When I see the "talking" of a dear animal like that, as well as observe the antics of my own pets, I always think about my realizing only a few years later how much my nonverbal boys understood when they were tiny babies. Things like my discussing a specific passage of one of their books I'd read to them way before they talked. Discussing it with another adult, only to be interrupted by one of my v little boys toddling over in his giant didi with his milk bottle hanging from his teeth -- with that exact book AND THE EXACT PAGE open. The book was upside down. I puzzled over it later but decided it must be a coincidence. But I now believe is was not -- that our nonverbal dear ones (whether young, old, or another species) really do understand way more than we (I) normally think. I think this is confirmed by people teaching their preverbal children sign language. Ditto the sign language for Coco and other chimps, Alex the parrot. And Teddy the porkypine seems so responsive with his sweet sounds. He eats corn so neatly. 8/21/2012 05:09:02 pm
